Tax-exempt hospitals must publish a written aid policy. Their Form 990 and Schedule H also show executive pay, charity care, and community-benefit reporting.

Public ownership can add board, agency, assistance, or public-record routes. The exact rules depend on whether the owner is local, state, or federal.
